From sketching on the back notepads in school to collecting fashion magazines, Gary Yang’s fascination towards fashion is evident from an early age. Gary excelled in art throughout childhood and school and is captivated by the ideals of purity of form, composition and proportion. Gary chose to continue his studies in architecture at the University of Queensland graduating with Bachelor of Design Studies and Bachelor of Architecture with Honours Class. Gary found that the discipline of architecture can translate over to fashion design with the same principles in mind – form, function, colour, texture, construction and proportion.
